Mary Elizabeth Morton


Mary Elizabeth Morton is an Associate Choral Director at Wando High School. Under her direction, choirs consistently earn Superiors in both state and national competitions. Her students routinely are accepted into All-County, All-State, and ACDA regional and national chorus. Morton has conducted choirs at Southeastern ACDA in Jacksonville, in Orlando, Venice, Florence, and Rome in St. Peter’s Basilica.

In 2011, Morton received her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting Magma Cum Laude from Louisiana State University under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Fulton. While in Louisiana, she served as Music Director at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Baton Rouge, and as a Guest Adjudicator and Conductor for schools and churches of the area.

In 2009, Morton earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with Choral emphasis Magma Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina. She received her certification to teach music in the state of South Carolina in 2009.

In addition to teaching chorus, she enjoys serving as singer and guest conductor at local churches.  She is a current member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, and has performed and participated in state, regional, and national conventions. Morton has traveled to Italy, England, France, China, Ireland, Orlando, and New York to perform with and conduct ensembles.
